Businesses with contracts for construction of state buildings must hire 100 percent of their workers from Michigan. Currently, the requirement is only 50 percent.

Cracks down on companies that knowingly hire illegal immigrants

Companies that hire illegal immigrants will have their state contracts and tax incentives canceled. Companies must
give back incentives they received and will be ineligible for any future state contracts.
